Dog Agility in the Czech Republic (by Veronika Ch.)

CATEGORIES

        We have high categories and efficiency categories.

        The high categories are small (S), medium (M) and large (L). In small category there are dogs that are under 35 cm. The medium category is between 35 and 43 cm and the large category is over 43 cm.

        The efficiency categories are three too. It is A1, A2 and A3.

        The A1 is for beginners. When you want to get on to the next category, you must have three exams A1.

        The A2 is for the advanced. When you are in category A2, you can’t get back to A1. To advance to the next category, you need three exams A2.

        In the A3 category there are the best racers. From category A3 you CAN get back to A2. The dogs that achieve A3, stay for three years in A3 to get degree A3 Champion.

MISTAKES AND DISMISSALS

The mistake is when:

  • the dog throws down a bar (or panel)
  • the dog steps on a long jump
  • the dog does wrong in weave poles (no in the begin)
  • the dog doesn't step on the zone (in zone obstacles)
  • the dog jumps down from the table before expiration of 5 seconds
  • unintentional contact between the dog and the handler (A1)

The dismissal is when:

  • the dog leaves out some obstacles
  • the dog runs into weave poles
  • Behalf every mistake and dismissal you get 5 bad point.

DISQUALIFICATION

The disqualification is when:

  • the dog breaks the order of the obstacles
  • the team has got third dismissal in run
  • contact from between dog and the handler (A2 and A3)
  • the handler touches some obstacle
  • the dog leaves obstacle course
  • the dog has got a collar on the neck
  • the jump on tunnel
  • the dog throws down other part of obstacle beyond admissible parts

OBSTACLES

  • We have got three types of obstacles.
  • The jump obstacles are jump, double jump, circle, long jump and wall.
  • The zone obstacles are seesaw, dog walk, A-frame and table.
  • And the other obstacles are tunnel, cloth tunnel and weave poles.

RACES

  • The most races have dot three part. It is agility, jumping and exams.
  • The agility is race with all obstacles. There are only three categories (S,M and L). The efficiency categories are together.
  • The jumping is race without zone obstacles. There are only three categories too.

EXAMS

  • The exams are race with all obstacles. In exams are nine categories. (SA1, SA2, SA3, MA1, MA2, MA3, LA1, LA2, and LA3)
  • Executed exam A1 is when your run is with max. 5,99 bad point.
  • Executed exam A2 is run without bad point.
  • Executed exam A3 is run without bad point and with some medal. (1st,2nd, 3rd)
